Our Beautiful Sue

Master Jim was informed by family members of Sue Ahrend that she passed away on June 5, 2012. Sue was a long time instructor in Long Beach, CA and a frequent participant at the annual Zaca retreats.  Her family wanted to pass along these thoughts:

"Our loving, beautiful and talented Sue passed away last evening.  Todd, Ali and myself were at her bedside holding her hands, listening to one of her favorite songs, "Over the Rainbow" by Israel "IZ" Kamakawiwoʻole, when she transitioned into the light.  Our hearts are broken, but we know she is now at peace.

Sue's loving presence touched all who knew her and she leaves this world a better place.  God bless you Sue, soar with the Angels."

Pictures of Sue may be seen on the "Changing Energy" page.

A New Dharma Teacher

In January 2012 Master Jim  received an invitation to become a Dharma Teacher in the tradition of Zen Master Thich Nhat Hanh. On March 17 he participated in a Lamp Transmission ceremony, at the Deer Park Monastery near Escondido, which was the culmination of the invitation.

As part of the process he offered an insight gatha (poem) to Thich Nhat Hanh and he responded.  He is sharing the exchange on the page "Tai Chi Writings" titled "Insight Gatha."

Master Jim hopes you enjoy them.
